Shoshana Wheeler

Shoshana Wheeler is an award winning educator and counselor. She is currently a school counselor for Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education. She was Teacher of The Month for April, 2004 for the Conejo Valley Unified School District and received the Ventura County SELPA Golden Bell Award in 2003.

For the last 15 years, Shoshana has been a practitioner and teacher of Nonviolent Communication (aka compassionate communication). She received her Masters of Science Degree in Counseling and Guidance from California Lutheran University, and has trained with The Ojai Foundation Center for Council to bring the forum of council to students, families, and individuals. Shoshana has had extensive training in Restorative Justice and uses this model with students and families to resolve conflicts and bring healing to tension filled situations.

She has trained extensively for the Las Virgenes Unified School District and other public and private schools. She is a certified parent educator through the Echo Center of Los Angeles and currently teaches Compassionate Parenting in Ventura County. Shoshana also leads workshops for individuals and couples teaching both Nonviolent Communication and The Way of Council, two of the most powerful communication tools available today.
